Taurus Judge

I bought my sweetie one for Christmas this year as she pointed one out last year and said she wanted it but I had already gotten her a Bushmaster
Anyone have one and what does the longer cylinder do, if anything, to normal 45colt boolits?
Will the normal beginning loads and col be adequate?

Shoot any 45LC's and 410's you want! The longer cyl lust allows you to shoot 3" 410's. I shoot the same loads in all my 45 rifles AND the Judge.

A fun gun to shoot I think. How else can you legally carry and shoot a "sawed off" shotgun?

I had only fired 410 shot shells from mine as I got it for snake control. I mentioned this to winelover, a member here while visiting and doing some shooting at his place. He brought out his own 45 Colt boolit loads and commenced to fire away then stating . . . well, it's fired the Colt through it now.

Worked well but of course it's not a match gun though up close & personal either way, shot shell or 45 Colt it's a good defensive gun.

MIL gave my son one. Is in my gun safe. Haven't shot my 45 Colt cast loads in it - yet. But sure we will. And no reason to think they won't work.

Can tell you what I HAVE done with it. It is a 6" bbl for 2 3/4" 410. I took it out with a box of 410, and shot skeet from stations 7 &8. WHAT A HOOT!!! After I got the hang of it, I did pretty well. I would recommend it to anyone that has access to a Judge! Not much more fun things you can do with your clothes on!

My cousin has the judge mag. and we have shot 454, 45colts and all .410 shot shells she is a beast. We was hitting 8inch steel plates out to 50 yards

I have the Taurus Judge 3". Love the gun, very fun to shoot. I load Lee 452-230TC boolits for it, 5.9grs Titegroup, 1.580" OAL. Best shooting 45 Colt round I've shot out of it so far.

I have a bad leading problem with cast in my Taurus. Hard or soft the cast leads the forcing cone and beginning of the rifling. Because it shoots 410 the cylinder throats measure about 0.460 so a .452 cast rattles around until it smacks the forcing cone. Plated or jacketed works fine (haven't tried PC).

Well, 'ya missed the 45LC brass that Starline had (for 3 hours today!) on their site.

I was able to snag 1,000 for $183.......cheap for quality NEW 45 brass. Have used lots of it in the past and very good quality.

Do what I do.......put an icon on your desktop/bookmarks for the starline 45lc page so you can check it at least once or twice a day......and MOVE ON IT FAST!!!!!!

Maybe the Judge "Mag" is the Raging Judge. It's a Judge built off the Raging Bull frame, shoots 454 Casul, 45 Colt, and .410. My Judge is the magnum version, meaning it has a cylinder long enough to handle .410 3" magnum shells and 45 Colt. Then there's the Judge Public Defender which can only shoot .410 in 2 1/2" and 45 Colt. Just wanted to clear some things up so no one gets hurt.
