I have requested a Mihec mold on 45 2.1's group buy. It is for a Walther Interarms PPKS .380 that I own. It is expected to throw lead at .358" or a smidge over. I requested the gas check version. The problem I have is I have slugged the barrel, and the largest diameter of the slug is .3583". I should think that a cast bullet of .360" would be more ideal, but I have not seen such a mold. I know that custom molds can be made. In the interest of good accuracy and not leading the barrel do you suggest that I pass on this mold?

He will cut it for the Mak at .367. I don't know if there are any other options. He cuts very accurately, so if he says it will be .358 you can bet it will be. If there are only the two options, and I think that this is the case, I would back off and invest in a .360" mold.

O.K, thanks. I retracted my order. Too bad, looks like a nice design.

The RCBS 90gr mold for the 9mm/380 is a great boolit, number 82057, a GC if you use a good lube, or Hi-Tek coating. As long as the boolit matches the largest diameter of the bore you will be ok. 360 might bulge the case a little too much.

Get Accurate to make you a mold with the .380 boolit design you want. I just got a mold made with him and speced .359" with WW. It drops at a hair over .360" - .3605". His lead time says three weeks but the mold shipped in like 5 days after I ordered it. The 35-098S in his catalog is similar to the design in the MP mold GB.

Gentlemen, thank you all for your opinions and advice. I appreciate it all. After looking at the suggested sites I am interested in the Accuratemolds. I will pursue this after the holiday. Everyone have a good Thanksgiving.

I can't imagine the reason for a GC on a mold of this type. No reason in the world
that you wouldn't be able to get PB to work fine, IME.

Actually, if Miha says it is a .358 mold it will cast about .359 or .360 so you can be certain to
get a sized .358 out of it.
