Update on "Mike's Savage No. 4 Mk I* Project". Shot 20 rounds of factory ammo yesterday; Remington 180 gr. Core-Loct, Soft Point (semi-round nose). Fired first round with a welcome mat rug over the action to catch any debris. No Kaboom. Ejected case with no trouble, measured case and length was within .001" of an unfired case, and no primer protrusion. Case measured within .0005" at the head jst in front of the extraction groove. So I shot the other 18. Accuracy was fair for me and an unfamiliar gun; 3" at 50 yds. Still waiting on some cast .320" bullets and reloading dies. So far, great fun!

I'll prolly go through with this project getting more parts and tools. I stopped when trying to measure headspace and removing firing pin. I didn't have a tool. But I enjoyed shooting it, I think I'll continue with her...

Brownell's has a firing pin tool. Just remember to remove the locking screw on the striker.
