i have a 400 grain flat point boolit that Ive powder coated and will be loading with ram shot enforcer . My question is where do i start in the grains of powder ? And COAL ? it being lead i know i need to slow her down a lil but not sure where to start. Anybody have any ideas or experience? Any help would be much appreciated...

Plain base or gas checked?

I'm sure you have the data from Alexander Arms? You can look at OAL for same weight bullets, but bearing length is also a crucial factor. There's also some data on beyond 556

Sounds like you got it going on.....

I have some data for the 440 you could work with. Worked it up from someone else.I could go hotter on the load but I like my shoulder. Lil gun powder. Best I could do was just under 3 inches, but it was the same with the plated bullets. Blew my scope to oblivion after 150 or so shots so I am on the hunt for one that will work better. Might account for my accuracy, and vertical stringing I was seeing with the load.

when i shot the 400grn it was actually pretty tame recoil and cycled nicely

With the Beowulf make sure you are using full power loads so the brass holds onto the chamber wall through cycling. If you are not getting the case to expand enough your cases will telescope and shrink to the point they will be unusable. Also, make sure your chamber is dry, and has no lube left over from cleaning. Full power loads feel like shooting a 20 gauge slug. Any less than that, and I would be afraid my brass was getting ruined.
