I'm helping a friend reload for his Sako and Steyr. Both in 270.
He brought me H4350 and Nosler 130 Ballistic tip bullets.
Most people use IMR4350. But he said that's all they had. Numbers the same, so he though they were the same.
Loading data shows different.
Anyone use this combo????

I have used 4350 in the past but now mostly use IMR 4831. With listed starting loads I can (sometimes) put 3 of those 130gr BT's into 3/4".

The H4350 will work although it is not the same as the IMR version. There is not much difference but they are not the same. I would start somewhere around the starting load recommended by Hodgdon. I think you'll find it to be acceptable both in accuracy and velocity. Should serve him well.

If your powder does not give you what your looking for try H4831 it shines in the .270 I have not personally tried Reloder 22 I believe it has a following. There is Hogden 4831 and IMR4831 which like 4350 the two brands are close but not the same. FB

the 4350 you have should be suitable for the task at hand.
go ahead and work with it in the middle of the load chart, you should be able to put something together as good as most factory stuff without too much stress.

It should work. I use IMR 4350 in my 270.

Nothing wrong with H4350 in the 270. If you haven't, go to the Hodgdon website and get loads. Regards, Woody

I have loaded 130gr. Sierras and Speers over 54gr. IMR 4350. Your components will work.
