Times are tough all around, Heck, I don't have this months mortgage yet. We often hear bad news before good, or instead of good. So I thought I share some of the best news I ever had to share. My one and only Son Joined the Navy yesterday. Looks like He'll be accepted into the Naval Nuclear Program.

Awesome makes you feel good. I served in the Navy as a SeaBee and was happy when my son asked for me to sign a waiver at 17 for him to join the Marines.

Congrats! I went into the USN Nuclear Power Program over 40 years ago and it was a great experience for me. Without the training I received as a "Nuke" I would never have been able to attend and complete engineering school. Give your son my best wishes.

You get the credit for raising a good kid, but he's the one I'm sending my congratulations to. I wish him, and his parents, well.

Excellent! It's an very good program and he has the right to be proud of himself when he graduates. It is a stressful job, I hope he can handle the stress involved in the job.

The son of an old shooting friend of mine quite college and joined the Navy nuke program. Lots of intensive schooling. He did so well after his 1st enlistment, the Navy sent him back to college and engineering grad school. Became the nuke engineering officer, rose up the ranks and took over command as sub skipper, then a squadron commander, and retired as a captain. From seaman recruit to full bird. Around 30 years at sea. The opportunity is there if you're squared away and work hard. Another local boy went into the same program, did two enlistments, got out and is now making bo-ko bucks at a power reactor. You can be proud of your son, he's got to have some G2 to be accepted into the program. I wish him all the best.
