mine do come out shiny like that, then they turn an oxidized grey as they cool.
the wife thinks tin is like 25 cents a ton and hers come out nice and bright.

Hey run, let me know your address. I will make you rich and offer you 10 dollars a ton for tin. I will even pay shipping.

Mine look good, form well, just frosty. If I dampen a paper towel in mineral spirits and rub em down they shine up.

That is a good bullet that works in every gun I have used it in.

Well guys... My mix is just range slop with 2-3 % tin.... There is no secret to making boolits shiney.... I take them after casting and..............

And..................

:takinWiz: Lol.....

Actually... Just grab an old beach towel, and rub them after they cool... The will shine real nice.... Just a little buffin is all it takes.... I have found though, that they are harder to buff after they cure for a month or so... So if you want them purty, just take the time to buff a few and take your pic... Impress your friends, then sneer a bit as you say, my bullets are purty... He he.... I do not buff all my boolits, the ones i actually shoot are Fuguly.... But you can bet i am gunna have clean underwear if i am going to see the doc.... I dont want the masters around here catch me with a fuguly boolit... I am, after all, a Boolit Master..... :kidding:

Actually, the real secrete is the awesome pewter that i get from Imashooter.... If you folks get on his good side, he might make you up a batch of AlaskanGuy shiny boolit mix....

You notice when I take a pic of my boolits, there are only a few in the pile... The rest of the bucket of boolits is not camera ready...

Frosted is often a sign the lead is too hot.

I always dress my boolits well before taking their picture, I wouldn't want people making fun of them in public. Unlike AG mine at least get a BATH towel instead of beach towel.

That is a bath towel. I don't send my bullets to the beach or allow them near sunblock. They whine a lot but I mostly ignore it. Maybe they think I'm a monster? I think they are Ideal 257283 babies.

Alaskanguy I have that same mold in a 6 banger and it is a very good boolit for the 45acp. In order to stretch my pile of clip on wheel weights, I mix 50/50 with pure +2% tin and still get good fill out and accuracy.
Lee did a good job of making that paticular mold. I can not say the same for their 6 banger 360 dia. 160 gr. RNFP for the 38/357 caliber. The single lube groove on it is too shallow. Works perfect on revolver lenght barrels but seems to run out of lube on a 20 inch rifle barrel.

That is my bullet for all 45 ACP loads and guns. Works great. I use 2% tin, 3% antimony, basically COWW with added tin, cast in Lee 6 Cv.

Unfortunatly, i dont shoot either of those..... I generally only shoot my 44 mag-daddy in handguns.... I make the ones above for friends..... I will have to find something shiny in 44 mag...
Let me look....

Ok.... Here are some shooters. The one on the left is the lee 430-310-RF for my 44, and the one on the right is the Lyman 375449jn for my 375 h&h... About 269gr in my alloy for the 375.

Now Those are shooters.... Bread and butter bullets for alaskans in my opinion.
