I shot this mangy coyote at 162 yds. with my wife's little Contender Carbine in 7mm TCU....

He's so ugly that he probly is thanking you. 7TCU is a pretty nasty round for its size. 357 maximum shoots deer with his. And yes, nice gun!

Those are Weaver's 4X4 rings...

Yes, I do have 2 sets on there - 4 rings....

Why the excess rings? The 7TCU is not exactly a hard recoil?

Shooting that 165 gr. Sierra bullet, recoil is quite sharp in that little 5 lb. rifle. With just two rings, I could not keep that scope from sliding and changing eye relief. I added another set of rings, dusted the bottom halves with powdered rosin, cranked everything down good and tight and in 300+ rounds, that scope has not even had the thought of moving! And besides that, my wife thinks it looks cool with 4 rings on it, and I have to agree....
