Machining 1911 frame and slide casting

I'm sure this has been asked and answered but I can't find it when I search here or in the special projects forum. If there is a thread pertaining to this, would someone please guide me to it?

If not, has anyone done this operation? If so, where did get your castings, instructions, special tools/tooling if required and what was your result?

Do a thorough web search; the info and resources you need are out there. Typically, the places that sell the 80% frames have machining information and tooling available also. I would recommend the Weapons Guild forum as one place to search for info.
