Ordered some 1/8" Duro-Felt to make my own Wads.
Wonder wads are just to pricey.
What do you guys use for lube ?

Olive oil works for me.I also use mink oil.

I like Gatofeo #1. Gulf wax, bees wax, and sheep tallow. I had problems with oils and soft lubes migrating into the powder and weakening the charge in revolvers. This stuff is hard and doesn't migrate.

I have used canola oil and bees wax heated to liquid to soak into the felt before cutting the wads. Works pretty good.

I make/use 2 parts bees wax, 1 part lard, 1 part olive oil. In colder months decrease bees wax a bit. Heat up a bit in bottom of pie tin and soak wads.

Cut the wads out first then lube them. I've used 50/50 beeswax mixed with either lard, deer tallow, or olive oil as the other half. A 7/16 hole punch chucked into the drill press works great over a hardwood block to cut the wads. Hogging out the channel in the punch to smooth it helps the wads to pass through easier.

+1 to Gatofeo's lube. But it's all I've tried on wads. I've been using grape seed oil for patches, which seems to work OK.

I use hellgates formulas and now also lube after I punch them out.

T/C wonder lube or bore butter. Put in plastic bag and throw in the microwave. the wads will soak it up. if not enough, add a little more and do it again.

Johnson Paste Wax or Kiwi neutral shoe polish, wipe thin film with fingers, then bake at 250 degrees in oven until distributed / absorbed.

Oil, it would contaminate the powder.

Gatofeo #1 I just made some up. the Mutton is available from dixie gun works, our Own randy rat has the beeswax and parrafin is available at most stores.
