I e-mailed Henry Arms and asked them what the twist rate of their new 30-30 was and they said 1 in 38. I don't know how that compares to Marlin 336 and Win 94's. I have a 1950 Marlin 336 and a microgrove Marlin and a pre Win 94 and a post Win 94. Not sure if twist is the same for pre and post.

I think they gave you the twist rate for something other than a 30-30, standard twist rate for the 30-30 is 1-in-12".

My recollection is that Winchester used a 1 in 10 and Marlin a 1 in 12 or vice-versa. It was the .44 Magnum Marlin barrel that was 1 in 38 but I also have seen Winchester 44s that allegedly were 1 in 38.

I believe the traditional Marlin 336 30-30 is one in ten, and the Winchester 94s are one in twelve. The new Marlin XTR may be one in twelve but this seems a bit unclear and should be verified before relying on it.
