This just came in yesterday, and I shot about 50 rounds at an indoor range. The biggest shock is that it feeds 148 wadcutters smooth as butter. COOL :smile::smile:

That's nice. I just picked one up in 45 colt myself and am really liking it.

Sold several of those over the years. Reachin' 30-30 with a larger meplat is good medicine.

It has one heavy barrel! Might need another one in another caliber.

Congratulations on very fine American Made rifle. I now own 3 with numbers 4 and 5 on order. Everyone of my Henry a Rifles shoot very well the 30-30 brass is scary accurate and just pleasure to shoot. In fact I shoot that rifle almost every day (range in my back yard) and it just keeps impressing me smooth, good looking, accurate quality built American Made Rifle

I have one of these, and to say I love it would be an understatement! Congrats to you! My only sort of dis-like is it is kind of heavy, imho. I bought and installed their large loop lever, which seems a fair price for fifty dollars, and was quite easy for me to put in. Makes a fine rifle look even better, imho. You can check this out at: http://www.henryrepeating.com/st-large-loop.cfm

Best! g :-)>

Nice rifle. If they made it with a blued receiver I would be sorely tempted.

I'd kinda like a .357 pump action myself.

But that Big Boy is nice!

I have one I bought this summer and just put Henry's large loop on. Looks great, the new loop just slipped in, and for $50.00 it was well made.

I've put about 50 rounds of different bullets through the Henry and it's a sweet shooter! Cannot wait to load up some heavier loads to try.

That's sweet. I had a .357 on order last year when they got hit with the hurricane. After about three weeks I came upon a Marlin .357 in a local gun shop and bought it then cancelled my Henry order. However this spring I bought a Henry .44 and I love it. I don't think its too heavy and the thing is scary accurate. I shot a nice 10 pointer with it last Sat morning using a Skinner peep. It just felt right when I took it hunting. I may still get a .357 sometime but I like my Marlin alot too.

The 45 Longcolt I have.........errrrrr had because my son shot it with 310 grain cast and then proceeded to tell me how that should be his gun.......hard to argue with him he shoots it that well. Great guns wait till you add the 30-30 then you will be forever hooked scary scary accurate.

I just got my Henry 44 and want to put a Skinner peep on it. I'm a little confused about which to get, though. The "Express" is what will fit, but it mentions a "Black Gold" version with windage dovetail. Does the Express version not have the windage? I like the looks of the Black Gold version, but not sure of the cost.

The express is what I have but ordered in the black/gold configuration. I paid $117.00 shipped. Basic sight is $90 plus $20 for bg upgrade and $7 for shipping. Mine works with the stock front sight but it may depend on what loads and how far you zero your gun. I currently shoot 240xtps over 14.5 gr Lilgun and it is deadly accurate.
I did remove the aperature when I was hunting as I had a hard time seeing thru it at dawn when back in the woods. I use the aperature for target work.

I am in sw Indiana. Never took it to the range as I shoot in my yard. Its nice living in the country and having neighbors that know me and don't care if I shoot.
