Sweet. How close/long? Looks as if the headshot did the trick.
he was around 25 feet (i was in a stand) it was with a Ruger Super Black Hawk new model 5.5 inch barrel. and yes White Eagle, he was amazing, i had him that evening, i cut some back straps up in about 1/2 inch slices pounded it flat and seasoned it and breaded it and fried it with some onions and mushrooms....

What took you so long.....great job, I'm guessing you're hooked on handgun hunting. Backstraps with mushrooms & onions, I hate you!!

I do not agree with head shots but have nothing bad to say about your shot. You did good and have meat.
But 4227??? That stuff is VERY temperature sensitive in the .44. I would go to 21.5 gr of 296. Good boolit, the 310.

I have to agree with 44man about the headshots. Too much can go wrong, especially with a pistol even being that close. Deer getting there lower jaw shot off die a very slow painful death. Nice job otherwise and nice pistol.
I wish I could have used another powder but my sporting good store has only received 200 lbs of powder this year 4227 was all they have
