Only one comment.

I can't get anything less than 150 grains to shoot out of my .30-30.

Make some shot loads for the pests.

Lee 311-93-1r with around four grains of TrailBoss works real well for me. I use it instead of a 22 for small game.

Finding this mold won't be easy and who is to say if you did find it that it would shoot as well in your rifle ? ? After that has been said, this would be a dandy squirrel load.

As to scaring the deer away, if you shoot a BB gun, believe me, the deer are gone ! !

This was shot out of my T/C Contender ,10 " barrel pistol :

I just went to the range on Monday and had pretty darn good results with a 311414 w/gc. 15.5 gr of H322. Seated at 2.707. (yeah, I know, Its a single load thing). Goes 1576 ft/sec. I got a 1.2" group @ 50yds from a Marlin 336. Opened up to about 2-1/4" @ 100 yards.

I use 2.7 gr Bullseye under that very same cast bullet (TL314-90-SWC). I TL mine and size at .311 and seat to the second lube groove and mildly crimp. They feed flawlessly through my M94s and accuracy at 50 yards is 1 1/2" or less. They run 820 fps out of the Carbine and 850 fps out of the 24" rifle. Excellent for plinking and small game. I used a couple thousand of these loads now in my 30-30s alone.

I shot some Saeco #322 (32-20 plain base) this morning with 6 gr. Herco from my Savage 219 (single shot) 30-30. Was getting minute of silver dollar @ 50 yds. My Lee soupcan does better than that but I have to waste a gas check, lol. Get a mold that fits your throat and you shouldn't have much trouble finding a good load.

I also think this is a great load in the 30-30. That is the Lee TL-314-90-SWC in my avatar. My accuracy load has been ACWW, 2% tin, LLA or Recluse 45/45/10, sized to .311 and loaded over 7.0grains Trail Boss for 1480fps.

As they are so short, I read a tip from Larry Gibson and Blixen to interpose a small piece of rod in the seating die so that you can screw the die down far enough to seat them:

My dad used a .30 carbine with full metal jacket for squirrel hunting, these were probably surplus ammo but didn't tear the table fare up.I was thinking of something along this line for the 30/30.

I use the 90gr Lee SWC sized to .311", lubed with LLA, and over 2.7grs Unique for this, and it is quiet enough for backyard pest control, but it DOES scare the deer away.

I was not able to get good accuracy until I got up to 4.0 grns of Unique with a 311-419 or a 311-245. I used a lot of those boolits on chickens for silhouette shooting, but with 8.0 grains of Unique or Herco.
