OK here we go.
I have a Gahendra Martini Henry rifle( started life with me as a parts rifle)
I have installed a 43 Mauser barrel as the original was tost.
This thing has an 18-20 lb trigger pull ( I am not kidding).
My hairbrained idea is to build a double set trigger for this beast! I like shooting it but sometimes just pulling the trigger will pull you 3-4 minutes off target.
So the question is does anyone have a drawing on how to make a double set trigger for a cartridge gun or an Idea on how to reduce the trigger pull on this one.
There are only 2 pieces ( the trigger and striker) not counting the main spring.

polish the mating parts on the sear-trigger, reduce the spring a coil or two or narrow it if it is a flat spring.

My gahendra rifle has a flat mainspring. Pretty thick one too. You could still see the file marks on it from the rough shaping.

You can start by polishing the contact surface. Next try thinning it a bit with different grades of sandpaper until you've got it to a nice polish.
Don't go too crazy on the spring. It's hard to find replacements out there!

Carefull work will give you a 3-4 pound trigger on the gun. I would check the mating pints for hardness and re harden afer polishing.
