I also cast right in the kitchen. A couple sheets (4X4) of heavy cardboard sourced from the store I work at cover my new vinyl floor and the Lyman bottom pour sets on a commercial grade cookie sheet...right on the table. ($6 from Johnnies Resturant Supply) A heavy wooden high-sided snack tray with a folded towel catches the boolits. Unless you're smelting or running the temp above about 2000 degrees there are no fumes. Oh...and don't drop recycled lubed boolits into the pot. I handle the lead more when I'm lubing/loading than I do when I'm casting. Audie...the Oldfart..

I like the bullet, but not sure if i like the way the mold casts yet... I need more time on the mold first... I am going to VHT these white tomorrow for my 375 h&h, then test them when the weather breaks... They should be easy to find in white so i can see how the look after they hit the berm.

A pic of AlaskanGurl's to follow after she is done making hers all purty like she is....lol....

She did purty good i think... Alloy was range lead with a pinch of tin to fill them out nice... She buffed them with a towel to make them purty....

AlaskaGurl looks mighty fine to me. No frosty boolits, lube grooves look good, and all in all I'd say you done real good. AlaskanGuy your 375 449 looks pretty good too! Now see how they work for you. Way back in the old days I did my casting from a small pot on the stove using a dipper. I also pan lubed them too. I now have moved my casting into the garage. If it is nice out I usually move the table to a shady spot outside in front of the shop. Wherever, it is a fun hobby.

VHT is a epoxy coating thing similar to Powder coating... it comes in a can and then you bake it on.... Here is the thread.... Better read it Star... I been following the thread from the start..... Here is the link...

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?210666-10-epoxy-coat-can-it-be-done-lets-find-out

I am gunna push them with a case full of 4064... cant remember the exact amount I will need to look at my notes..... but definitely 4064.. and maybe some unique...

I am going to push them with 51 grains of 4064.... That should give me about 2000 fps velocity.
