I had an old Lyman .311 H & I sizing die that has been with me a LONG TIME.
It had been put in and out of the Lyman 45 so much that the O ring had been damaged and leaked lube badly with just minimum pressure on the lube sizer handle.
I knew it needed to be replaced. I used the search function on the forum and ended up with just about everything other than the correct size of the O Ring.
Sometimes the search function on this forum and I don't get along very well........
So , I took the torn O ring and my cleaned Lyman .311 H & I sizing die to my local Ace Hardware and asked for a new O ring.
The fellow looked at what I had , then looked through his O rings and handed me what he said was the correct O ring.
I put it on the die, it looked to be correct, but I wouldn't actually know until I got home and used it to see if the seal and fit were correct under hydraulic pressure ?
Well, I don't know if this is the correct size or not, but if you look at the 1st photo, you'll see how much lubed leaked from around the top of the die after sizing 300 ea., 30 cal. rifle bullets.
By the way at .47 cents each, I bought a half a dozen.
