I was reading another post and some guy said he had a lot of 800X, and primers, and a little light dimly came on in my head....... What about a sabot round for shotguns? Would it work? As they are smooth bores, you couldn't spin stabilize them, but what about a fin stabilized projectile for a shotgun? Or do I just have too much time on my hands???:D

Quite a few different slugs you can load in wads to use in a smoothbore.

Use our super sabot and hollowbase 58cal Minie Bullets.
Being hollowbase they are fairly accurate.
Cast your own bullets or get them cheap on Gunbroker.
Use the Minies that measure .574-,577" diameter. Ed

+1 to that. Ed's Super Sabots work well even from a smooth bore. Shotgun sabots are common.
