Have a Lyman 410459 that is casting at 218gr with COWW with some tin added for roughly 2% tin. I'm wanting to use some H110
but can't find good data. I've seen powder range from 18-20gr for H110 with that bullet searching on the web. Looking to get 1200-1300 FPS for hunting purposes. BHN is about 12.

Anyone have experience with this boolit and H110?

Looking over Hodgdons data, I don't know that you can safely load a 220 gr cast bullet that low with H110. You can use jacketed bullet data to get started, but it appears that even the starting loads with H110 would be over 1300 fps. H110 has such a narrow powder charge band, and cast bullets generally have higher muzzle velocities because they have less resistance in the bore. AA #9 might be a possibility, as well as 2400, HS7, IMR4227 or even Unique. Interestingly, Lyman doesn't show 296/H110 loads for cast bullets in the .41 at all.

I've got H110, Power Pistol, 231 and Longshot on the shelf. The lack of data for the 220gr Keith is what prompted the question for H110.

I could always load up the 210gr XTP I have, but wanted to try the 220gr boolits at a more "hunting velocity" with H110. I can always use the 231, but velocity is less than I wanted.

Good to hear from another .41 magnum shooter.
To answer your question, yes. I have used that very load for a woods carry in my S&W model 57. I have had no problem with that powder charge weight and the H110 powder. I just substituted the 410459 boolit for the jacketed bullet (the same weight) listed in reloading data. No worries.
Now, all that being said, this was with MY handgun, Not yours. Always be cautious with other peoples
load data. My load information may NOT be safe in your firearm.

I have used the same amount of 296 with the Saeco 220gr TC and the Lyman 215gr SWCGC. No problems.

The Lyman 410459 as cast with COWW and some added tin weigh in at 216gr to 218gr L&S. With 18gr of H110, it gave me a mildly recoiling load coming out around 1140fps out of a 6"M57. Thanks guys!

Sorry for the double picture post.
Temp 43 Time 430PM
Winds variable but brisk in NE GA
1894 in 41 Mag with MG barrel
Left Target at 50yds with 5 shots
Right Target at 75yds with 3 shots

Used an old rest while sitting in the bed of my pickup. Need to build a bench, but this was good enough.

Hands were getting numb and groupings were minute of white tail.

My 255gr WFNGC also grouped to same POA. Velocity on those were 1250 out of a 6" M57.

Hello, osteodoc08. Back in 1980, I was using a S&W 57 8 3/8" .41 Mag. for IHMSA. My std. lead load out to pigs was the Lyman 410459 cast from range-scrap+50-50 solder over 18grs. H110. For turkeys & rams, I used Speer 210 s.p. over 20.0gr. H110. I managed to take a few state championships with that combination.

since the late 70's I have found this load one of the most accurate in any .41 I have--or had-- S&W, rugers, TCs, DWA
410459 with 22 gr of H110 WWLP or 22 gr of 296, others have been about as good such as 12 gr of 800x -- took my first deer with 20 gr of H110 and the 410459 -- meplat is too little -- but the boolit shoots very well indeed
