I'm not really sure where to put this.

Does anyone have any idea what make this rear sight might be, and/or what it might fit?

I do not remember how I got it but it's been in my parts kit for many years.

There are no manufacturer's markings. The dovetail is about 12mm and I'm pretty sure the threads on the screws are metric as my thread gauge seems to indicate this.

It's a very well made sight, with solid, positive clicks for elevation and windage.

Any info would be appreciated.

It is the one that fits my rifle.:kidding:
I have no idea, looks like a good one.

Give us a sense of how it mounts. Right side, left side, probably projecting back? I don't know European designs that well. Somebody must.

Might be for a target air gun. Many of those use a dovetail for mounting.

It is European with the dovetail either small bore or air rifle and fits most likely a 11mm rail.

I think btroj and doc highwall nailed it. I have a target airgun and the sight is similiar. One other thought...Swiss target sight for a K31???? Although, that sight would possibly fit all three.

It would fit a dovetail on top of an action.

Thanks for the replies, folks.

I figured it would be something like that. 11mm dovetail for European std target rifles is probably correct.

It's a heavy unit, all steel, and it is very similar to sights I've seen fitted to older target air rifles.

These days those sights seem to have evolved into "sexier" looking units, with vernier scales, etc; ie, http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/index.php5?menu=501&sprache=1&zubehoerID=12

This one looks like it was designed to be easily removed and refitted, with the side dovetail clamping screw having the notches for a coin to use for final nip up and the top locating screw to fit a detent in the action dovetail.

I thought sombody might be able to pin it down to a manufacturer or OEM equipment for a particular rifle.

Thanks again.

Norbrat, the Anschutz web site you posted with the rifle at the top is a air rifle and the sight has a set of risers for both front and rear sights attached the bright aluminum pieces.

This is a sight from a FWB 300S air rifle. Pretty similar. Not identical but of a similar style. That is why I said older target air rifle

I have an old Anschutz sight that looks like that.

Walther, Original, Anshutz, Feinwerkbau, Finnish Lion all had similar sights on their small bore target rifles and or air rifles. Parker-Hale of Birmingham also made one similar to fit the Brno small bore rifles.

That's about the best I can do ............................. sorry.
