I posted in another older thread about using 800-x. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?170045-What-is-your-favorite-lee-slug-loads-w-green-dot

Does anyone have load data for 800-x for 1oz lee precision slugs?

I have lots of 800-x, WIN209 primers various Rem/Win/Fed hulls and wads.

Would prefer to use Rem hulls or Fed Top Gun hulls as I have a ton of them.

I appreciate the help.

The possibilities are endless for those components. You have many choices, but it depends on if you are going to load just the shotgun wad or the wad cup for the sabot usage and other components for the wad column. For my gun it was one of the more accurate powders. But it really depends on your gun and how it is chambered and bored. Take a look at vdeomemories-blazing sabots thread on page 2 or 3 of this forum.

That thread is 450+ posts. I haven't seen 800-x mentioned in the first 5-10 pages. Any clue as to where to look?

Haven't used 800X so can't be of help directly that way but if you can't find slug specific loads you can use equivalent weight bird or buckshot load data and substitute your 1 oz. slug. So any shot load data of 1 oz. to at least 1 1/8 oz would be usable. Not high performance slug loads but safe and usable.

Another source would be Lyman sabot slug data as they weigh 525 grs. So any Lyman sabot slug load data would be safe for use with the Lee Drive key slug. You would likely have to mess with wad fit and column length but those are minor substitutions.

If I get time later I will look through my references and post any 800X data I find.

Sorry, I had forgotten about this.

I just dug through my references and have some info for 800X but none specifically for 800X and Lee Drive Key Slugs, However, any 1 oz. to at least 1 1/8 oz. data would suffice with wad changes to suit.

I have 800X data for:

- Fiocchi hulls and 0.690" RB
- Winn AA hulls and Lyman Foster slug (445 grs.)
- Remington Express hulls and Lyman Foster
- Federal Plastic Hunting cases (paper basewad) and Lyman Foster
- Federal Gold Medal and Lyman sabot slug (525 grs.)
- Federal plastic hunting cases and Lyman sabot slug
- Remington RTL and Buckbuster slug (1 oz.)
- Remington SP and Lyman Sabot slug
- Remington SP and Lyman Foster slug
- Remington SP and Buckbuster slug
- Win AA and Buckbuster slug

So there are a few choices there. Let me know the components (which hulls ~ not just brand but type) then I can scan or type out the recipes and post or PM.
