I want to start casting bullets for .308. I am planning to purchase a Lee Precision 180 RN mold, and Swaging die kit. I have cast bullets before in 240 gr Keith SWC for my .44 mag. using a Lee Swaging die with great results. I want to make some cast bullets in .308 for my model 94 carbine, T-C Contender carbine and my Ruger Gunsight rifle. My question is, what size swaging die should I get? .0308, .309, or .311?

You are looking for a sizing die to size a boolit down! Swaging implies , swaging a slug "up" in size to specified dimentions. And to answer your question, you will have to slug your bore and size 1-2 thou over the actual dimention.

I rechecked on Lee's mold, the mold throws a bullet at .309, should I get the sizing die at 308 or 309? I don't have the money for an expensive set up just want to make some cheap loads to shoot out of my guns.

Heres a great read. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?158805-Just-a-few-tips-for-new-rifle-casters
Also, not to sound like a jerk but post in the cast boolit area will yield a better response. Over here in swaging we are making boolits by shoving lead into a copper/brass jacket and expanding them upto the desired size. With and old FN5.7x28 brass case you can produce your own. After the initial cost of the dies you'll be able to make a lifetime of your own bullets.
