I purchased a Lyman 358345 in the Swappin & Selling section of the forum a few days ago from cheese1566.

I'm a happy camper !

What's not to like ?

Ben

I love that mold; I size .358 and load in 9MM for use in my BlackHawk convertible.

Years ago I ordered that mould through Herter's, single cavity, hollow point. Super-Vel bullets were all the rage and I thought it would be the cat's meow in my 357 Blackhawk. I soon learned how slooowwwww it is to cast with 1-hole hollow point. Gave it up and got a 158 gr double cavity SWC. But...that mould is perfect in an old WWII German P-38 9mm luger. Generous bore needs .357 size and 115 gr. weight is perfect. Might be good in 380 also. With that double cavity production rate should be fine and be useful in 38 special and 357 magnum too.
Thats what I call a versital mould and very good score...congratulations.

Doug,

I don't remember where I got that sprue plate ( there is a lot of stuff that I'm not remembering anymore, BTW ).

I wish when I got it, I'd have bought a dozen of them. That extra leverage is a real game changer.

Who ever made this sprue plate is GOOD !

Ben -

At one time Lyman made a mold that had the same body and grooves, they extended the nose slightly more and weighed in at 133grs nominal. I have a four cavity version of that and just love it for 9mm use, it feeds a little better than the 115gr version in my HiPower.

The pictures kind of remind me of the 452460.

I like the sprue plate too.

Yes, as soon as they fell out of the mold, they reminded me of the Lyman 452460.
