I have a new to me Versamec in 20 ga. The problem is when i picked it up i thot i was buying a 12 ga. I'm thinking that the guy who sold it to me got it used and never actually used it. Anyway its in good shape with some light surface rust. Would i be better off sellng it and picking up a 12 ga loader or finding a 12 ga conversion kit for it? Does anyone have experience with this particular loader? Are the parts compatible with the 650?

20ga MECs are worth more in the current environment then 12ga is. 20% - 100% more depending on the area, shipping, greed, sellers knowledge, etc. If you can use the 20ga - keep it and purchase a 12ga. If you don't have a use for it, you'll be money ahead selling the 20ga unit.

Specifics on conversion kits depends on the year the press was made. 1982 is the big change year.

I'd swap you for the 12ga Versamec I recently purchased, but that one turned out to be a 10ga.

I appreciate the sentiment. Seems like ppl arent looking under the hood before they put them on the market
