Got some ideas to try in 30 cal. Not sure how to treat the longitude center of mass. Forward, back - relative to geometric center? Does it really make any difference? Yes, I can calc and put it where it needs to be, if it needs to be someplace in particular.

No answers, I'll ask in a different way. RD311165 regular groove. OK CG (center of gravity or mass) should be forward of CF (center of force). By how much? If I remove lube grooves, GC shank and crimp groove, reduce nose by a few thou. (meplat too). I end up moving CG (CM) back toward the CF. As the designs I've seen , diff is only 5% or so. As this affects stability, I'd like to get a reasonable answer before I try. Is there a max or min difference for best stability?
