I recently received 20 5#+ (close to 6# each) ingots of antimonial lead (about 4 to 6% antimony) and 2# of pure tin nuggets in 1.5oz pieces. This made it so easy to blend the "close to hardball" alloy right in my pot without any trash other than the ash of my flux and, the lead was of a beautiful deep blue color when heated a bit too hot (gotta watch the pot sometimes). Anyway, I let it cool to 725F before adding the Sn and fluxing. Made beautiful 452-460 SWC boolits that measure about 12bhn at 12 hours post cast, may go a couple of points higher in a week or so. The price is very reasonable delivered to my door and ready to go.

I agree with your philosophy !
I also go to Rotometals for antimony but use the "Super Hard " alloy which contains 30% Sb. The cost per pound of antimony is a little lower.
I have plenty of Sn so mixing alloys of exact composition is very easy. :)

Getting COWW around here is pretty much impossible and when you do the iron/zinc/debris ratio to usable metal is too high.

Try ROTO,s Merit Babbitt. A good lead (cc. 74%) Antimony (ca.16%) and Tin (ca. 10%) mix
Add a little of his tin cuttings, and a good mix
