A friend of mine has one and he shoots it with jacketed slugs. He is shooting 410's and getting goor results. I don't think he has ever fired a cast bullet in it.

Felix has one and I think he is pretty happy with it.

I have a pair that were made in the last 8 years or so . Got a Marlin 1894FG first , they are still pretty easy to come by !
Also got a Marlin 1894CCL , this thing looks just like a Marlin 1894CB with a 20" barrel .

And I kinda like umm both [smilie=1:

413 boolits required in my CCL. I shoot hot loads only. ... felix
414 boolits won't chamber from the magazine.
freebore is 200 exactly with 413 barely rounded wadcutters.
freebore is 245 exactly with 410 barely rounded wadcutters.
412 boolits will generate lead slivers when shot hard, WW+2%tin
413 boolits won't leave anything behind.
Very difficult to design a boolit that will be equal in this gun and revolters.
Revolters must have 90 length max as a scraping band at 411, Ruger&Smith.
Rifle needs at least 150 scraper at 413 (begin of ogive in LFN).
Don't know the leade-in angle, or its length therefore. ... continue below
(Can compute from the freebore data above if desired).
The gun shoots straight, and is quite heavy at 20 inches,
when compared to the Ruger lever, for example. It has to
do with the cowboy barrel (6-8 sided). This particular gun
has its barrel screwed in off-center by at least 12" at 100 yards.

LOL he can keep it

It is in nearly new shape
But he wants $600 for it and the brass , ammo and dies are a extra $100

I thanked him for the time and walked away

If it's a 1894CCL and in good shape thats a good price !

However if it is just a 1894FG , well I think not [smilie=1:

It was a 1894 FG

That is the one I was hoping for

I guess I will just find another 44 mag
I keep selling them to people that just have to have them :mrgreen:

And put a pistol grip stock on it if needed

Just have to find 2 things
The $$
And the time to play with it

They made a model 1894PG the same time as when they came out with the 1894FG .
And the 1894PG already has a PG stock [smilie=1:

I have an FG - No, I won't give it up.
I paid $275 for it, LNIB. Couldn't pass it up, makes a good pard for the Blackhawk.

A gunshop about 1/2 an hour away has one BN for $495. I just smiled and walked away. And I already have the stuff to load for it! CB.
