I got a #4 Rowell

It can hold 4.5lbs

Rotot metals $51.99 delivered USPS MFRB(10.99). OUch I know. But if you smelt alot you will love it.

I ordered it on a wednesday and it was at my door on Friday.

Gotta watch out for that word vintage on the evil flea bay.

I use a food service ladle, but it only holds about 2#.
If you prefer the correct tool, you'll be passing the Rowell on in your will.

Rowell #3 holds 4 pounds of lead. #2 holds 2 pounds of lead. I have a # 1 and a #7 and will probably add a #3.

Which Rowell ladle for filling a Lyman 4-bar ingot mold? #3 or #4?

I use the small cast iron sauce pan (about a pint capacity) that I first used for casting over a Coleman stove. If I were replacing it today, I would go to a thrift store and get either the smallest, cheapest sauce pan or a large one piece soup ladle.

You could always forego the ladle and upgrade to a bottom pour smelter. It's simple to do.

Or perhaps a Rowell from Roto Metals which is a sponsor of this forum.
