Hi All, I got a couple of brass miha hollowpoint molds of another member awhile ago. Now that it is getting colder I am casting again. My question is are you guys coating the hollow point part with bullshop lube or leaving it with nothing on it when casting.
Thanks John
Just the tiniest bit can help boolits drop, but I don't think it's strictly necessary. I don't on some molds and do on more stubborn ones. When I do I just barely touch it with a qtip of lube.
I would say try without and if you have problems give it a shot... but more heat to the pins works 99% of the time!

Echd, thanks for the heads up.
Heat is your best friend with HP pins.
Keep them hot!!!!

Waco, thanks I have done alot of casting but for some reason I have never cast any hollow points. Most of my stuff is large round nose or keith.

I don't get lube on the pins. I DO lube the part that slides in the block. I lube it on the outside of the block to avoid getting lube on the pin itself.

I'm with btroj, lube the part of the pins that slides through the block but not the pin itself. The heat will keep 'em dropping - not lube.
