I have been looking, but couldn't find any pictures or descriptions other than the dreaded term of "assault rifle."

They will hold up what they want you to see. The "Conspiracy Nuts" will point out the obvious differences, but who will listen to them, "they're crazy"! Minipulation of the masses thru minipulation of the media.

Rest assured, it was - or WILL BE - an AR-15 before it's all over.

Looked like a new M1 Carbine to me.

I think you may be correct.

Looks more like a mini 14 than the m1 carbine in choate.

Also look at the size of the magazine on the carpet nearby. I am cautiously thinking mini14 in choate with cheap plastic mag. Just a hunch.

I could be quite wrong though.

NY newspaper (all the news that's printed to fit), I believe the post states "AR15", pics show what looks like a mini 14.

That's not a folding stock; it is a collapsible stock and is legal in CA.

I think a detachable mag is legal if it is released with a bullet button.

MtGun44

"BULLET BUTTON"? Pray tell what is this? I am guessing it is some sort of Commyfornia
mandated device for torturing gun owners.

Bill
You sir are exactly correct. A California legal ar has to have the magazine released by a tool instead of a button. Usually the tool is a fmj round used to release the magazine.

are you serious???!!! i've never heard that one before. when did that start? i would see this causing an extra cost as well. hopefully it stays in cali

It's been in cali for a while, they just tried outlawing them.

"outlawing them . . . . "

What - ARs, fmj rounds, 'bullet buttons', guns with or without 'bullet buttons ????

Is this a great country or what? When someone passes a gun law, someone else finds a way around it. The bullet button was the result. :D

http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2012/05/01/bullet-button-used-to-get-around-california-gun-laws/

The same thing happened with the Tec 9 pistol. :D

I love this country.

I heard Lou Dobbs say he was armed with an automatic rifle!

MtGun44
11-03-2013, 08:20 PM
LOL! Just like the national ban, it bans features and it is easy to remove
or modify those features. . . . .

So now I know what a 'bullet button' is - good in a way, but also quite sad.

FYI, 30 round mags are legal if you owned them before they were banned. I shoulda bought more but I wasn't into AR's then, I only bought one because I knew they were going to get banned. Shoulda bought more than one, but simple economics prevented that. I recently put together one for my wife but it does indeed have a "bullet button", plus it can never have an over 10 round magazine attached without us becoming criminals. So if I ever take both of them to the range at the same time I will only take 10 rounders to prevent even the possibility of doing this and some type of law enforcement seeing it and taking action. Probably never happen, but who wants to find out? Besides tryng to ban the bullet button and all the guns that had them, they also tried to ban all the grandfathered 20 and 30 rounders, but it didn't pass. So far all they have done is ban all lead hunting ammo in California. As it is I will not be allowed to pass on my legal registered AR to my kids, not as long as I am in California. It's legal until I die, then it is contraband and needs to be either turned in, without compensation, or taken out of state. Sucks.

I just saw a news article that names the weapon as a "S&W .223 SEMI AUTO RIFLE".

Seriously, how does she keep getting re-elected?

It's to bad the LA PD didn't find him at home when they did a well being check as requested by his family out east. After his suicidal phone call.
Don't know what this mans problems were besides he called his family talking about suicide. Can
t help but think if he'd not been on the opposite coast from his family they'd of got to him and helped him. But this story didn't have any happy ending. What I do know for a fact is. More or less guns won't make any difference in these cases involving disturbed suicidal individuals. Also that these tragedies bring out the most disturbed mentally ill people in our nation. Which are the Liberal gun control fanatics. Plus many other flavors of sick minded control freaks.

Tomorrow I'll be going through a TSA screen here in PHX. Usually I yank there chain a bit. Think I'll be very quiet tomorrow.
