Well, another one came along!

Both by ASM and both chambered for the 44 Colt cartridge. I use a 200 grain RNFP boolit and all the blackpowder I can fit under it. Here is a shot of the pair.

Some minor differences but close enough to keep me smiling!

That's sweet all right.

For those not familiar with the 44 Colt, it came out about 1871 and was the Army side arm until 1873. It came out as a black powder cartridge using the inside Benet cup and Marin folded type primers and later loaded with smokeless, commercial ammo was made until around 1940. I'm not aware of any current factory ammo in 44 Colt, could be I suppose.

Now that's an oldie.

They are beautiful. I think the conversions look classy.

Very cool... We will have to start calling you " 2Gun StrawHat" and not because you actually have 2 guns. Lol :kidding:

Love those cartridge conversion guns. I spend most of my time during my visits to the BBHC gun collection, staring at them.

Thank you, all.

Not a lot of buck with the 44 Colt, flame and roar yes! I need to load up more cartridges but that will have to wait until the new year.

StrawHat, Absolutely fantastic. I've been looking at the 1872 and those conversions, likewise the in the authentic .44 Colt cartridge. When Viggo Mortensen challenged Jeremy Irons at the end of Appaloosa he gave Jeremy Irons the strapped Army model in .45 and kept for himself the strapless one with the more naturally pointing ability even tho the strapless model has less power.

Time to shoot with both hands from the hip?
