I will be casting for mostly 1911's. i am thinking of getting a lee 2 or six cabity 230gr rn mold. do they have to be sized. also what is the best way to lube the boolits.

Get a nice tumble lube 6 cavity. You will like how fast the pile of boolits grows! See how large they are from the mold. The TL is supposed to not need to be sized.
The 45-45-10 lube works well. If you get Lee's sizing kit, you get a bottle of lube, just add the Johnson Paste Wax and mineral spirits per the formula.

With the lee tumble lube bullets you don't need to size them, and the lee alox works fine as a lube in the 45 colt, though it can gunk up your seating die over time.
I also recomend the lee 6 cavity molds, and really like the lee 200 gr swc tl in my 45 acp.
You do not need to size if IF they are larger than bore and smaller (as loaded) than chamber. I had leading trouble with the TL boolits and conventional boolits when lubing with LLA or Recluse mix in my 1911 pistols. Hopefully, your result will be better.
