who has used monotype instead of linotype? i am thinking of using 1/2 as much with ww as i would use with linotype. what do you think.?still not goten to mix my bullet lead yet. i have been mixing 10 lb ww 2 lb linotype 8 oz 60/40 soder. i have a lots of range lead and stick on ww. would like to blend it together. what about this. 5 lb ww--5 lb range-- 2 lb lino-- 2 lb stickon--8 oz 60/40. i will be mixing in 75 lb mix, diping out 30 , adding back raw. i actulay will be using 2 other small pots and will be cross mixing winding up in the big pot last. this is for 9mm 40cal 45 acp 38 spl target loads. I KNOW STRIGHT WW IS USED BY MANY. THE LINOTYPE MAKES AND KEEPS THE BULLETS PRETTY. we are talking about 3000 lb when all is mixed. this bling hog found 8 5gal buckets of nuts at one tree that nad not been tuched. think there is more. it does pay to stop at every place you see. i also have 5 places that i had gotten them at but is shut off, it is going to the battery guy. gor 3cents lb for 850 lb steel clips this week. i hap been paying to take them to the dump. every little bit helps. any hepl thanks.

Monotype = 73.0% Pb, 17.5% Sb, 9.5% Sn, Bhn = 28
Linotype = 84.0% Pb, 12.0% Sb, 4.0% Sn, Bhn = 22

Monotype has about half again more Antimony and twice as much tin as Lionotype. I have about 350lbs of monotype and have used it successfully in a number of mixes.

The mix for the .38 Special should be different than the mixe for 9mm/.40 calibers. The .38 Special should be a LOT softer, especially if you are trying for target loads.
