I received another mold from Tom today. It is for my 1911 45. Tom and I worked on the design. It's catalog # is 45-205J. It is a truncated boolit. Thanks for the help on it Tom. I just had to cast some tonight. After sizing and lubing they weighed 212 grains with my home brewed alloy. I can not wait to try them out.:happy dance:

I like the design. Keep us updated on how well it shoots and how it was loaded and sized.

Beautiful! I use Lee's TC 452 and absolutely love the bullet it makes. Runs through EVERY .45ACP that I have. You'll really like the way it shoots. BTW, I can't tell from the picture, is that a flat base or does it have a bevel?

It is a flat base design. I to have used the Lee 452-230 TC. But I cut the bevel off and they drop at 210gr. I wanted more bullet sticking out of the case and a smaller meplat than the lee design. I also wanted a deeper lube grove.

I, too, am a big fan of the truncated design. I've run the Lee 452-230-tc through several 45's with ease. BTW, Eric at Hollowpointmold.com is currently selling the Lee 2-cavity in a hollow point version, if you're interested. If I wasn't hooked on the NOE 452-230-HP, I'd have one of these. I run both with Titegroup.

I went to the range around noon today. I know I said I would test this boolit out on Sunday, but I could not wait. Last night I loaded up 32 rounds. Boolits dropped from the mold at .454" just what I wanted. I sized them to.453" and lubed them with a 2:1 mix of BAC and Carnauba Red from WLL co. They shot great! No leading, FTF's or FTE's and they hit their mark. I might just have to try this boolit out on a deer next weekend if one comes by under 25yrds.

Load was:
Federal SP brass
Win. SP primers
5.4gr of W231
OAL was 1.210
