How so? I enjoy using it to keep in touch with friends who are scattered all over the place and family. I have maybe 30 "friends" total. I delete anybody who show socialist tendencies so I my facebook is nice and clean.

I have my own Facebook page such as it is, mainly friends I grew up with and relatives. Also belong to a few other Facebook sites such as our local American Legion Post where I find out what's going on and what dinner is being served on Friday, also belong to one where it's a I Grew up in "insert Home Town", great place to remember how things were growing up in this small town in Northern Indiana.

It's a good way for us to keep in touch with our daughter who is away at college. Other than that, I really don't use it.

It can give you some insight into people you "friend", sometimes more than you really want to know.

Don't have one and never will. Those I wish to interact with, I do already. I have Instagram, owned by Facebook, and find looking at pictures more enjoyable and you don't have all the extra garbage that Facebook has.

It’s what you make of it....I use it to post pictures of my daughter so that my parents, who live 1000 miles away can see pics and videos as well as relatives in Israel.

Shoot I enjoy Facebook to keep in touch with all my nieces, nephews, and family members that are far away. One question is bugging me though -- if Facebook really bothers you why go there then???

It's just like porn. I don't like it, have no use for it although I do appreciate breasts so I just leave the magazines on the shelf.....not to be a smart aleck though..............<grin>

We had Facebook and Twitter years ago when I was in school, except we called it "The wall in the men's room". Same stuff, different generation.

What is the "Facebook", of which you speak?

Facebook is what you make it. I keep in touch with family. My daughter has a page that she sells her jewelry on. I'm going to have her help me set up a page to sell the predator and turkey calls that I make. I work at the local high school and see all the BS the kids post, you're a **** and You're a ***** and I'm gonna kick your ***. Teen agers show Facebook at it's worst. You just have to weed out the **** that doesn't interest you or annoys you. Dale

When you become stricken with CRS, and have trouble rememvering all the birthdays and anniversaries of family members ... Facebook is great as it send you reminders a week before. Now I only have family members on my facebook, so I don't get all the other pages and pages of 'stuff' by the friends of friends.

OK OK , I need to have it for a little DJ service I run, but I would rather talk on the phone, but who has the time for that anymore?

It is what you make of it, not that different from this site in many aspects.

It makes a big world small. Just noticed a friend on my buddies friend list was my middle school math teacher from almost 35 years ago.

Join if you want to...don't if you want....pretty simple really. I did join but have only one friend and don't check for anymore.....why?...I became good friends with some people in Zimbabwe. They have horrible troubles with internet, electricity etc and it turned out facebook was the easiest most consistent way for us to stay in touch. That's all I use it for. Some people really enjoy it and use it extensively....isn't choice a wonderful thing?

Facebook: What a waste of time! Just a bunch of C@@p to piss me off!

Facebook is just a tool. Design it for your own uses if you are able. If you are unable to use the settings to choose your friends, what you follow, and privacy settings,,,it can become annoying that's for sure.

I use it for keeping in touch with my Brother and his family, my daughter and her family, and some old friends. ALSO there is a fairly active reloading group and casting group. AND most importantly, the local politicians.
Good Luck,
Jon

Facebook is there so the NSA can keep in touch with you. My kids and grandkids are oblivious to that fact, and keep worrying me to get an account. Nope.

You really don't think they keep all the stuff you post on file? It gives them a look into your life that they wouldn't get any other way. I don't think it's an extreme thought to think the NSA watches Facebook. I forget what forum this is in so I will end this line of thought now.

And the NSA isn't tracking things here?

Want to keep the NSA out of your business? Go totally off the grid. No phones, no computers, no internet, no email.

The idea that Facebook makes the NSA tracking easier is silly. If they want to keep tabs on us then they will.
