I've got a straight stocked Sharps. I've carved an ebony pistol grip for it but I'm looking for mounting suggestions.
Looking at the trigger plate front to back there is a screw hole for the trigger group, a screw hole for the tang screw that goes through from the upper tang and a screw all the way at the back.
THe trigger plate looks pretty straight forward to drill if I have to, but is there any way to mount it w/o drilling a new hole? and if I do have to drill, where is the best place to put the hole in the trigger plate?
Is one screw enough to keep the grip from twisting?
Really any input from those who have mounted one (pictures would really be nice)
One other thing, for those with ebony grips, do you finish them at all? I think mine looks pretty good in the raw.
