Ok, this time wasn't JUST an oil change. I got the cabin air filter done, and they fixed my screw-punctured tire and put my spare back in the trunk.

And the time before that we got two new tires and an oil change for my wife's van.

But between the two visits, I collected a fair amount of free WW! Just shy of 22 pounds. So that's 1,232 125gr boolits.

At $0.44 / lb wholesale (what the local recycler gives out) - that's just shy of $10 in lead. And this is from a chain tire store - the kind that doesn't normally "give out" its WW. Considering how hard it is to find sources, I'll take it. :)

Not to bust your bubble on your score, nothing better than free. Are you familiar with Fe? Gtek

I am sure there are Zinc and Steel in here, as well as debris. I hand sort everything, anyway. :)

I also see steel and zinc.I work at an auto dealer and see them all the time. I also see good stuff too. Dont get the zinc melted in with your lead. Use a side cutter and try and cut the weights. If it cuts easy, its lead. If it take some effort its zinc.

Buddy up to the guys working on the floor with cold beer or cash. I have one guy in a shop that sorts the old clip on and stick on lead weights into my bucket, the FE and ZN into the battery recyclers buckets. They know what were after.
