Hypothetical question. Has anyone hogged out the chambers and cone to use the same ammo as their marlin?

Do you mean deliberately cutting the throats to .434+ just to save having to buy another bullet mold?

A tad more info might help here.
What are the throats in the pistol now ? What are you shooting in it now ?
I don't think the forcing cone needs to be messed with. I'm sure your throats are at least .431 now ( are they ? )
or are they smaller ?
My SRH has a .4295 barrel and I shoot .432 WW bullets all the time. my throats are .4318, call it .432

Heck I had to "Beagle" my mold because of my SBH's .433-.434 throats!

I had a custom mold made for my 629. I've never tried to beagle a mold, but I probably should try it once. I've had two Marlins, a 44 mag & a 444. Both guns went .434 with the blasted microgroove.

Will .434 chamber? If so, it should shoot and probably just fine as is.

Yes. I read on here some people do not like the 44 pistol/rifle combo because they both like different sized boolits. I have not put any lead on it myself. apparently others have. Thanks!!!!!

PLUS! Lever actions usually (but not always) require shorter bullet noses than most revolvers, and sometimes even a more rounded bullet profile. If you give us some specifics, somebody who has worked with that setup will likely tell you exactly what works, and what doesn't. I remember my 44 & .444 both disliked Keith bullets because the nose was long, and I had to seat the bullets deeper, and crimp into the front driving band.

Bought this guy when my Marlin had trouble feeding. Unsized or just trued up it slides right through the Marlin and shoots good in a SBH and a 629.

You seriously need to know the bore dimensions of both guns, plus the revolvers throat dimensions. Cast bullets don't work well unless they fit the bores and throats properly.

I have a SBH that had cylinder throat dimensions all over the place. 2 would allow a .432" to chamber, the others would not. I honed them carefully until they all matched the largest one, using a .432" boolit as a go/no go gauge, working each throat by feel and the .432" boolit slides in the front of the cylinder now, with just a little drag. The forcing cone was ehh so-so looking at it, and the gun did spit a little so I kissed it with an 11° cutter until it was even all the way around and it don't spit now at all. It shoots better now than it ever has in the 25yrs I have owned it.

There really is not a problem at all enlarging cylinder throats to shoot larger boolits. It works great. The forcing cone is not necessary to make it any larger, it's larger than the throat diameter already, but it does help if it is smooth, and concentric to the bore. Not all of them leave the factory that way. With an 11° cutter you can usually straighten them up without making it any larger at the fire ring.

I haven't measured my Super Blackhawk's throats but I shoot Ranch Dog 265gr sized 433 out of both my Ruger and my Marlin with great success.
