Elegant for it's clever simplicity in design. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?31165-Can-anyone-identify-this-press
Surely the Herter's catalouge trumpeted the wonders this short peice of 2 1/4 hex steel with a few cuts worthy of WWII tank manafacture in it. A few holes drilled, linkage made from flat steel. 1" ram and a lever. Pretty nice little press.
I brought it home not knowinig who made it, and started at the back, looking at of 93 pages threads on this very swaging forum. Did not take long to identify my new press as the 9 ton bullet maker.
This press was desinged to make half jacket pistol bullets. Unfortunatly the bleed vent is poorly placed for most other uses.
Already have a walnut hill, and two series II corbins, I'n thinking this could be a dedicated core swage press.
