I made this roast last night and it was great! The ingredients are:

One 4 pound baby bear ham roast
3 cans of beef broth
small can of pork and beans
one garlic clove
3 medium size potatoes
half a pound of breakfast sausage( I am going to do a keibalsa type next)
garlic powder, black pepper and seasoning salt

Combine all ingredients in crockpot and set on high for 6 hours.2.5 hours before dinner add two cups of jasmine rice.Once dinner time rolls around the pot will be close to overflowing but it is worth it! The rice soaks up all of the broth and the meat just falls apart!

This sounds delicious- and I have a "nuisance" bear here, too!

The last bear haunch I cooked, I trimmed off the fat (to make bear grease), pierced it in many places, inserting slices of onion and lemon peel. Then I marinated it in red wine with salt, garlic, and worcestershire sauce added. I browned it thoroughly over an open fire, then put it in a 450 degree oven, basting with the (boiled) marinade, until it reached an internal temperature of 170. I rested it under foil for about 15 minutes, then sliced it. It received rave reviews: "Tastes just like roast beef." Oh, well.
