I'll post those later, but if you go into the sticky's up top and under my name open that. Lizard333 posted a few of before and after for the LC typ he made.

BT I sent them out for testing not long ago and they were tested in gelatin. Here's the data:

45ACP 200GR

Distance 7yds

Impact Velocity: 1098 FPS

Recovered Diameter .651

Recovered Weight 192.4 (allow for 7.5gr 8mm BB)

Penetration 12 inches

Anymore info just let me know..

EDIT: BT whatever you do don't change a thing about those priceless dies I got from you, I don't think you can do any better if you tried.

Lizard333 I was hoping you would have put the LC before picture as well in there but I'll do it.

Holy cow! I know BTSniper's items are the gold standard here. I haven't seen this product thus far. If I wanted to buy the dies to make these are there any available for sale?

Grumpa those expanded ones look great. Now I have to figure out how to get my own dies and make some.

Take my word for it both the ACP and LC versions have the same results as far as there expansion capabilities. As far as a helpful hint goes for actually saving the coin for those all I can say is "Bite the boolit" and just do it. Like anything, perfection takes time and to make something like this requires time and details when assembling them. The first major clue I'll pass along is I weigh ALL the cases, if you think they're all the same think again. They vary in weight by as much as 12gr so don't go thinking they weigh the same, and that means even with the same head stamp.

EDIT: BT....I want a commission

I can also assure you if you notch and hollow point the 44's, they will do the same thing from 44 special velocities up through 44 mag velocity's.
by changing the anneal on the case at the end and changing the alloy used for the core allows you to change the mushroom.
you can get away with not notching the hollow points by using the deep hollow and soft alloy if you expose a bit of lead at the tip, and do a second annealing of the case mouth.

I ordered a set almost a month ago and promised Brian that I was a very patient man. Boy am I having a hard time keeping this promise. Dennis

Be patient. Brian is a small 'boutique' manufacturer. Everything is hand built and assembled. The fact he has a many month back log of work is a testament to the quality. You can't 'short cut' that. I ordered my 500 dies in late March 2013. They should be here soon.

LOL! I think I ordered mine in February.

Why are all you guys shilling for Brian? hahahahahaha
I just had to jokingly toss that in there.

Brian's 45 bullets are amazing. Only topped by his .500 bullets (from 45 ACP). Between the 45's and the .500's, I am going to be making a LOT when I get re-set up in Florida.

Nice work, and nice pics.

I'll shill for Brian any day!!

I've been waiting longer than all ya, and I'm not discouraged. I'll just be glad to get the 45 from 40 S&W in when they come in. Till then, I'm 6 months out having ordered a press from UP North. I'm not discouraged about that one either. It'll get here when it gets here. Meanwhile, Reloading and shootin'/ goes on. Enjoy life, it's too short to sweat the small stuff.

How about some load data?
Powder
Primer
Charge Weight

Those things are pro!

I don't know about the primer but here's what I do have.

Powder: Titegroup
Load: 5.9gr
Test Weapon: 5" 1911

And I'm still trying to figure out what the pro part means in your comment.

I mean that the boolits look like they came out of a box, not off of a press.

These are not from BT's dies and are 44 rather then 45acp but will still show how well they expand. Dead soft lead and a well annealed case sitting ove about 7 grns of unique. The one that is real smooth was shot directly into a box of dirt. The others went through a 2x4 first.
