Got a Cabelas (InterArms) .58 cal Hawken (please forgive the synthetic stock). Polished up trigger parts and lubed the lock (will take it apart and polish after season). Replaced the Sloppy barrel lug key and epoxy bedded the tang and then the barrel from its hooked breach to the key. Replaced the wooden ramrod with TOtW synthetic and put the bright orange drip of paint on the front sight. Built a short starter and cast up some .575 RB.

Off to the range this Wed!

I've got an older Cabelas Traditional Hawkin, with the brass butt plate and etc... nice wood stock. It shoots real good. I cast .565 RB and use a heavy patch. I killed a lot of deer with it. Never had to track a single one, mostly drt with a few going 10 to 30 feet before down. Hunting load was 95 gr of FF Swiss. Never recovered a single RB, all pass through, and that was out to 75 yds. 10 ga
