I was hoping some of y'all would like to give me your recommendations for BP loads for my .54cal Hawken rifle,i have Goex and Swiss FFG and FFFG powder and will be just shooting old school lead round balls. Mostly this will be just for fun shooting targets but I possibly might eventually try it on deer someday. Figured asking here i'd get actual tried loads rather than a general search online where you have to question the sources, thanks a lot everyone!!.

I shoot 80 grains of FFg Goex in mine with a PRB for everything. I've never shot a deer with any of my muzzle loaders and have since quit hunting, but this is an accurate load in my rifles that I can shoot extensively without getting fatigued by recoil.

I use 75-85 grains of 3f in my Getz English sporting rifle.

Might have even better luck on the Muzzle loading forum?

I use FFG in anything bigger than .50. 70 - 80 grs and a roundball should be the general ballpark. A little more / a little less would be OK, too.
