I'm going to pick up the Lee 452 300 grain RF and shoot them out of my muzzy. The bullet is a gas check bullet, do you guys think I will need to gas check the bullet or will it be fine just loading as is into the sabot.

No need for the GC. Sabot takes the place of the GC.

I use Harvester sabots with good results. no GC. I also shoot lee 230 grain TC with good results.

I just wasn't sure if the bullet would set in the sabot correctly with the GC base. My mind says there won't be a problem as the bullet should seat straight due to the sabots tight fit and most of the bullet being the correct diameter. Just thought I would ask.

Muddy dogs: You might have to size that boolit a little bit. Don't have any way to know what dia the mold drops but if it's bigger that the standard factory j boolet it will be tight to load.

Figured this, I have a Lee 452 push through already. Thats one reason I was asking about checks, if I need to add them then I would get the .452 sizer for the luber as I don't have good luck installing checks with the Lee push through. Might just get a sizer die anyway to keep adding to the collection.

I use a boat tail sabot with this bullet with no GC and it is very accurate to 50 yards, shot to 2000 fps using 120 grains of fake black powder. Hurts on both ends.
