A friend from church found this Shot/Powder measure and cleaned it up for me. I don't think I can use it but I thought it was pretty cool.

Those are good for shot when making spreader loads. The shotgun I have has a fixed choke and I make spreader loads using paper discs and fill the shot using one of those tools.

back in the simpler days it was in essence equal volumes of black powder and shot , advance to breech loading shells and it was in essence the same albeit with enough wad ( wadding ) to fill the shell , then along came smokeless and for some time they used "bulk" powders that tried to approximate the same ...it's never been the same since lolz but a cool old tool for true !!

I have 2 of those measures that I use for BP shells.
