OK, perhaps someone that has Quickload can input the following data to calculate the relevance of this proposed load
based on data for a 200 gr cast lead .45ACP & IMR 700X
Bullet: 198 grain NOE 311365 cast from Wheel Weights & water quenched, sized to .309" w/ Blue Angle Lube & Hornady gas check
BC was calculated and shown here >>> CLICK THIS LINK (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?193163-Need-Balistic-Coefficent-of-311365&p=2142495&viewfull=1#post2142495)
case: reformed LC 5.56 brass case, and annealed
case trimmed to 1.360"
COAL; 2.095" (estimated - seated to the crimp groove), yes this will have the base of the bullet down below the neck
but it can be stretched out to 2.200" which would put it at max length for magazine functionality
primer: CCI #400
powder: IMR 700X
start load: 4.6 gr
max load: 5.3 gr
it will be shot from a PWS MK109 upper (9 in barrel) w/ a pistol lower w/ standard carbine buffer and spring
(no can, but a Noveske KX3 to help provide back pressure for function)
there is a good chance that it will not function the action at the low end of the start charge and might not at the max either
I have 5 pounds of 700X and want to use it for something even if I have to cycle by hand
700X is just a bit too dirty in the .45ACP and may also be dirty in the 300BLK but I want to use it up
with the all too common shortages of powder that many are seeing maybe a load similar to this may help more members than just me
