Has anyone tried this new powder yet? I might want to try it in 44mag, if I ever actually see any for sale.

Yes I tried it in 44 mag Rem 788 & Ruger RH; 240 gr & 310 gr both GC'd; shot over chrono and attained velocities list in the Alliant data manual at about 3% under listed charges. It was extremely consistent in the 788, black powder like extreme velocity spreads. (I only shot a few rounds over the chrono with the Red Hawk did not do any stats.)

Which cartridges is it recommended for?

It is a bit slower than W296-H110. Have had good luck with Ruger only .45 Colt with standard primers.

That's what I was hoping for, thanks!

OK, sounds like it might be worth trying. I only heard about it while reading up on the new 22TCM cartridge. Supposed to be the only canister powder that will duplicate factory ammo velocities with equal accuracy in the Rock Island pistols. edit: Further reading shows that LilGun may be a good choice, but some folks say they get excess throat from that stuff. Not that I have one of those pistols yet, but am thinking about it. In the mean time I will buy a lb and try it in 44mag if I can find some....DanM
