This would be wild, it is a good thing they killed it.

In Va you need to look under the vehicle, from a distance, to make sure no snakes are there to get you when you open the door. Something tells me the hunters didn't know how to handle a wild animal.

When I worked nights in Florida I would check under my car and those nearby for gators before I walked up to them. I had seen gators in the parking lot. Not sure what I would have done if one was under my car.

I am from Mo. and when I come back to my car at the range, I check under my car for NSA agents!

I've been attacked by a couple of cougars, but never a bobcat.

We have the lynx which is a close relative of the bobcat. Even in a trap a lynx will hiss and snarl and be defensive. It will not be aggressive.
The end of the article indicates the animal had rabies. All bets are off in animal behavior when the animal has rabies.

As for cougars, they are common enough here but many are disease ridden ( from being ridden) but even though they act like they have rabies there have been no cases reported. Cougars are sleek, powerful predators, that can max a credit card in hours, clean out a bank account, and ravage most of a man's assets.....
