I have a bucket of the shortest 308 jackets that berger makes. I can produce a 170gr flat tip for my 30 30 to get down to 150s your going to have to get shorter I am thinking the Jackets are .950? I am at work and dont have the bucket handy. If you are wanting a 150gr lead tip or flat point with lead up to the top or beyond I think you probably will need to get down to .875 or shorter.

I have buckets of J4, 30 cal. .925" jackets. I have Corbin 6S dies; they will produce a 150gr bullet (flat based) but the actual mouth of the jacket of the finished bullet is very minimal in it's diameter. The exposed lead tip is tiny.

I've been swaging up 155 - 157.5 grain bullets to gain a slightly larger jacket opening and a little more exposed lead tip. That's the beauty of swaging; tailoring things as you see fit.

As '06 said above, a 170gr flat nose from the same dies produces a fine 30-30 bullet though.
