Ok, I've got a Spanish .54 hawken that's giving me fits.
Went to the range today, several different patches.
Usually g10" or greater groups @100 yds.
Tried a few different combos, then... Bingo

.530 rb, .018 ticking, cut into squares, 9/1 water,ballistol, 100 grs 3f. 2" groups @50 yds.
Several groups fired, all the same.
Another feller gave me some teflon patches... Three shots in the same hole. Next three flew wide by 4" or so.
Kept trying Teflon patches in the hope for holy grail. No such luck. Ij would like to tweek this load, but at least I have a combo for this hunt.

I also use a wad over powder..

Aloha...

I was given the teflon patches. He said that they are advertised in muzzleblast magazine.

The teflon patches might be good at the range, but from what I've read, cleaning between shots is necessary, maybe not so good for hunting. I ran a wet patch, dry patch between shots at the range. Worked ok, maybe a pita in the field.
